Having a personal connection to Mariupol... the once vibrant, now leveled city... now littered with the mass graves of executed nurses, children dead from dehydration, pregnant women dead from shelling. Anyway, having a personal connection to Mariupol had me writing to fundraise. I'm doing more, but that's part of it. I can't thank so many of you enough for donating via my website. It's helped. I'd started this song sometime before the pandemic. The inspiration to finish it came later. This song is about the folk hero Ghost of Kyiv.
